Looking for a repeatable undertone comparison

Сообщение Ellaer »

Our community theatre asked me to organize accessories for an upcoming historical play. One borrowed scarf is cool rose, while its counterpart is a soft reddish brown. During rehearsal, the copper-toned option seems to suit the actor very well. In lobby daylight, however, it casts an orange reflection beneath the chin. The cooler option seems dull under lamps, yet balanced when seen in daylight. We cannot alter either borrowed piece, and buying replacements is outside our budget. For a fair check, I photographed each option using the same manual white balance. Our photos show the same reversal and still leave the decision unresolved. I checked this skin undertone test page for a repeatable comparison method. That approach clarified the difference between value, undertone, and reflected color. I am leaning toward the cooler scarf with a modest change to stage lighting. This seems safer because one scene takes place beside the lobby windows. Do experienced wardrobe volunteers choose for the dominant scene or the changing light? I mainly need a repeatable production choice rather than an absolute color label.
